CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP


The St. Charles Parish Bar Association recognizes three classes of membership:  regular, associate, and honorary.


  • Regular Members:  All members in good standing of the Louisiana State Bar Association or other state bar associations who are regularly engaged in the practice of law in St. Charles Parish, or who reside in St. Charles Parish, are eligible for regular membership.
  • Associate Members:  All members in good standing of the Louisiana State Bar Association or other state bar associations who are regularly engaged in the practice of law in the State of Louisiana but who practice and reside outside of St. Charles Parish are eligible for associate membership in the Association.
  • Judicial and Honorary Members:  Members of the judiciary of St. Charles Parish, former members of the judiciary not regularly engaged in the practice of law in St. Charles Parish, and any other persons with a law degree who shall be deemed worthy by the Board of Directors or the membership are eligible of honorary membership in the Association.


MEETINGS INFORMATION


Regular meetings of the St. Charles Parish Bar Association shall be held on the second Thursday of March, and the second Thursday of November each year at 4:00 P.M. in the large courtroom of the Hahnville courthouse, or at such other times and places as the President or the Board of Directors may designate.


Notice of the time and place of the regular meetings of the Association shall be mailed, faxed, or electronically delivered to each member at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance.  MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR  KEEPING CONTACT INFORMATION CURRENT.
